Have you seen the newest Hallmark commercial? Valentine’s Day is about saying I love Us... I love that!!
“Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.”
In trying to think of a fun post for the most Romantic Day of the year it dawned on me that I have not done an overview of my 2010 Wedding Season!! How fun and appropriate to do that for Valentine’s Day!
I spent the morning sorting through photos from the year and I forced myself to pick TWO (only two was so hard) of my favorite photos from each 2010 wedding. It was so fun to go back and remember each special day. One of the most important things in my photography is making sure that things are organic. I am not big on posing people because I loving catching people in moments. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t throw you in front of the lens and just start shooting. I do give people a situation or a semi pose and from there they create their own photo/moment/memory.
Below are some my favorite moments from 2010… enjoy!!
Niesha and Floyd!! Such a fun couple. Niesha is full of spunk and personality. Floyd is a super sweet guy that loves Niesha to death. My favorite part about their day was Floyd’s toast at dinner 😉 Thanks for letting us capture your day!! Sarah and Chuck. Sarah has turned out to be one of my dearest friends. Chuck called me last April with a plan to propose to Sarah on the steps of Cathedral Chapel in downtown S.F. He asked us to photograph their proposal and the rest is history… They are such a beautiful couple both inside and out! Thanks for that phone call in April Chuck! Who knew the friendship the Lord had in store for our families!!
Katelyn and Sam. Katelyn is actually the baby sister of one of my dearest friends Lindsay. Katelyn and Sam are two of the sweetest people ever! There wedding was at a gorgeous location in CO! How Beautiful is Katelyn?! Love this girl! Every time I talk to Elsie I feel like I am talking to myself. She is super fun and full of energy and just loves life. Reminds me of myself before kids and lack of sleep 😉 haha! Elsie and Jared are so much fun and their wedding was a BLAST… we even hung around and roasted marshmallows after we were done shooting. Love the second photo of Elsie looking at Jared… totally shows her love for him. Jessica is as close as a sister to me. My gift to her and Caleb was their wedding photography. I’ve known Jess since she was 9 years old and barely weighed 60 pounds. haha! Caleb is such a gentle guy and loves her to death. I had so much fun shooting their day (crying a little…ok maybe a lot) and watching them start a life together. Love you girl. Dominic and Mitchy! Drew and I had a blast shooting this wedding! Best dance party of the year! Saw some moves I have never seen before 😉 haha! Dominic and Mitchy are both so giving and always have the biggest smiles. They even asked if we wanted to bring Carsyn to their wedding 😉 (they have a little girl close to her age). Our new little guy Cruz and their little girl Maddie actually share a birthday now!! Had to post this photo because it is so Keller and Daniel. While taking photos of just them they met these random people in the Hotel Lobby… and asked them to jump in!! haha! Obviously these two love life and people!! And Keller does great hair… check her out here! Awww!! I loved this day! Kiersten and Mike are super fun and full of life and these two love each other! Mike’s reaction to Kiersten coming down the aisle was the best by far this year. I mean he had me balling!!! I hope you know how loved you are girl 😉 We are so excited to be shooting at Murrieta’s Well again this year! This location was amazing and the light was to die for. Ashlee did such an amazing job with colors and decorations for their day! I loved getting to know them (and their sweet little girl) throughout the whole wedding process! Christina and Jeff. These two are so in love! I still love the quote her sister shared at their reception… at the top of this post.
Love this! I love how fun each one of their photos turned out! These two were so fun to photograph! So sad they moved across the country after their big day!! Such a fun wedding in Livermore! Elizabeth did such a good job planning her day! She was so smily and light hearted the whole day! Made everything so fun! And their food…. SO YUMMY!!!!
